Color as I See It by Emily Haddad
September 9 - October 28, 2016
The Stillwater Public Library is pleased to present COLOR AS I SEE IT, an exhibition of paintings by artist Emily Haddad. From the very beginning, color has been the focus of Haddad's paintings; more so than line, space, composition, perspective, light or shadow. While all of these elements are important, Haddad's primary need as an artist is to interpret the world around her through the harmonies of color. This can be seen in every painting Haddad makes, including those in this exhibition. For this exhibit, Haddad has also included six quotes by artists discussing the use of color in their own art. The quotes are set against detail from Haddad's own paintings.
The exhibition will be on display in the gallery during September and October. The Stillwater Public Library Gallery is free and open to the public during regular library hours.
