"A Day of the Dead" Family Remembrance Art Workshop : The Offrenda
October 29, 2016
Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm for "A Day of the Dead" Family Remembrance Art Workshop: The Offrenda. In Latino culture, honoring the dead is an important tradition. The offrenda, a special place where photos, momentos and other items are displayed in honor of a deceased relative or friend, is an art form that is based in this tradition. Bring your own special items to create a “Day of the Dead” offrendas with artists Gustavo and Julie Boada.
Registration is required. One slot per family but please add in the notes area the ages and number of children attending. Although the intent is that families share this workshop together as a time of remembrance, children 8 years and older may attend without an adult if this is the family's preference. When registering, be sure to include an email address or phone number should we need to contact you for more information.
This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (Legacy).
