This presentation is an opportunity to gain a broader understanding of the issues related to the history of American Indian nations and tribal communities of Wisconsin. Furthermore, participants will examine why it is important to generate a deeper and more complex understanding of human diversity issues and concerns, particularly in regards to American Indian peoples, in a society that is continually changing. There will be time for Q & A.
The event is one of many in 2018 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, which became a national park with the passage of the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act in 1968. Thanks to federal protections, the Riverway — which includes the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers — still offers clean water, breathtaking beauty, and abundant recreation.
