The Children's Hour

The Children's Hour

Presented by St. Croix Festival Theatre at Franklin Square Blackbox

The Children’s Hour is an emotional drama, written by an under-produced playwright.  The play’s first Broadway production, which opened in 1934, was a success with critics and audiences, and the story was later adapted into an Oscar-nominated film starring Shirley MacLaine and Audrey Hepburn.  The story takes place in an all-girls boarding school and follows the destruction wrought by an angry student’s false accusation that the school’s two headmistresses, Martha and Karen, are engaged in a love affair.  This must-see production, which concludes Festival’s summer season, will feature showcase roles for local youth performers.
