StarWatch Party with WCCO Meteorologist Mike Lynch

Mike Lynch guides program attendees through a night filled with great stories and folklore about the constellations and the celestial show in the skies over Western Wisconsin. An indoor orientation is followed by quality time outside under the heavens where Mr. Lynch will use his large reflecting telescopes (including two giant 20 inch reflectors that are among the biggest mobile telescopes in this region) to allow guests close-up views of star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, and other wonders in the winter/spring skies. Guests will receive a great handout package with user-friendly star maps and constellation charges, websites, a telescope-buying guide and more. Bring a lawn chair and be sure to dress for the outside weather to stay comfy for stargazing. Even if it’s cloudy you’ll learn a lot, have a great time and get a Mike Lynch “Cloud Check” for a future Starwatch Class.
