Anton Treuer: Everything You Wanted to Know About Indians But Were Afraid to Ask

Anton Treuer: Everything You Wanted to Know About Indians But Were Afraid to Ask

Presented by Stillwater Public Library and Bayport Public Library and Hudson Area Library and North Woods and Waters of the St. Croix Heritage Area and St. Croix Falls Public Library at Online/Virtual Space

White/Indian relations are often characterized by guilt and anger. Ojibwe scholar and cultural preservationist Anton Treuer cuts through the emotion and builds a foundation for true understanding and positive action.

What have you always wanted to know about Indians? Do you think you should already know the answers—or suspect that your questions may be offensive? In matter-of-fact responses, both thoughtful and outrageous, modern and historical, Treuer gives a frank, funny, and sometimes personal tour of what’s up with Indians, anyway.

Anton Treuer (pronounced troy-er) is Professor of Ojibwe at Bemidji State University and author of many books. His equity, education, and cultural work has put him on a path of service around the region, the nation, and the world.

Hosted by Stillwater Public Library in collaboration with Bayport Public Library, Hudson Area Public Library, North Woods and Waters of the St. Croix Heritage Area, and St. Croix Falls Public Library.
