The (Free) Online Classroom

The (Free) Online Classroom

Presented by Stillwater Public Library at Stillwater Public Library

Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, October 12 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM for The (Free) Online Classroom.  A great promise of the online world is access to knowledge. As top universities like MIT and Harvard offer popular courses online at no cost, and websites like Code Academy, Khan Academy, and Coursera have built solid reputations, education online is more dynamic than ever before. Some platforms offer the opportunity to earn certificates of completion, and there are even ways to translate your learning to college credit. What does it mean to learn in the virtual world? Where do you begin? Is this just for fun or are there more tangible benefits? This workshop will provide participants with an overview of popular, free, online learning platforms and help the curious and the motivated to start exploring the endless opportunities for online learning.

Program is free, but registration is required. Presented by Twin Cities Media Alliance and funded by MELSA. To register, call 651-275-4338 ext. 111, stop by the Public Services Desk, or visit our website at www.stillwaterlibrary.org.

The Stillwater Public Library is equipped with a Hearing Loop system that sends sound from the presenter and film directly to the t-coils of users with hearing aids or cochlear implants. If you have t-coils, please consult with your audiologist to have your t-coils activated.
