These have all become ways of referring to the natural wine movement – a movement that had its roots in the 80s but has blossomed in regions throughout the world with a mass following of wine lovers who prefer their wine to be as pure as possible from grape to glass. These are wines that are fermented with native yeasts, do not contain any additives (you can add over 70), are unfined and unfiltered, and have little to no added sulfur. They are wild and free and march to a different beat. And they can be incredibly beautiful and ethereal.
