This presentation will be about the future of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. It will an excellent opportunity for you to participate in public policy discussions regarding the future of these important social net programs. Come and learn!
At the first in the spring series, Improve Healthcare-NOW!, members of the Minnesota State Retiree Council will be speaking at the Bayport Library on Thursday, April 19 on Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid: Economic Security for All. The presentation and discussion, which begins at 6:30 pm, will consider the extent to which our social safety net helps assure a secure and dignified retirement for elders and supplemental support for the disabled and families in need. The speakers will also address current threats to the safety net and ways to strengthen it. The presentation was developed by the Minnesota Citizen’s Federation Northeast, a non-profit, non-partisan organization that stands up for the needs of low and middle-income people. The group addresses issues from a consumer perspective, not a party politics angle.
