The St. Croix Valley Women’s Alliance invites you to a community discussion following the viewing of the documentary “Big Pharma”, with special guests Chuck Bransford and Joel Albers. 

“Big Pharma” explores the problem of extreme drug prices in the US and how drug costs impact our businesses and our economy.  It makes the case for realizable change.

Dr. Chuck Bransford is a local physician with 37 years of practice in internal medicine in Stillwater. He was Lakeview Hospital’s Medical Director from 2004- 2014. Since 2007, he has been the Medical Director of Lakeview Hospital’s Homecare, Hospice and Palliative care. 

Dr. Joel Albers is a Health Care Economics Researcher, receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1993. He conducts cost analysis of health care systems with the Universal Health Care Action Network of MN. Joel received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois in 1989, and has practiced clinical pharmacy at the Veterans Affairs Hospital and in small independent pharmacies for 27 years.
