The Stillwater Art Guild Gallery is the premier venue for an exhibit celebrating the 50th anniversary of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway designation.
Artwork by nine regional artists with long standing ties to the St. Croix River Valley will be on exhibit the River Room. The artists are sharing their experiences, thoughts, inspiration, and feelings dealing with water in all of its forms; many specifically related to the St. Croix River itself, which has given birth to the historic river town, Stillwater.
The exhibiting artists are: Kathy Adamek (Bayport, MN), Becky Benson (Stillwater, MN), Curtis Dale (Stillwater, MN), Elaine Frederickson (Stillwater, MN), James Harvieux (Stillwater, MN), Jean M. Judd (Cushing, WI), Bob Lyksett (Hudson, WI), Randy Raduenz (Stillwater, MN), and Kendra Schwabel (St. Paul, MN). Artistic mediums featured in the exhibit include photography, wood, ceramics, oil, acrylic,
watercolor, and textiles.
The gallery is located within the historic Isaac Staples Sawmill in Stillwater, Minnesota on the north end of town. It was built over 120 years ago and still retains the character and charm of another era. When visitors enter the building, they can feel and hear the history of the building in the creaking floors, the high ceilings, and the open layout. The gallery is open seven days a week: Monday – Saturday 11am to 5pm and Sunday noon to 5pm.
