Heavenly Peace with Beacon Hill Jazz Ensemble

Heavenly Peace with Beacon Hill Jazz Ensemble

Presented by Stillwater Zephyr Theatre at Stillwater Zephyr Theatre

With a nod to her Boston roots, vocalist Suzi Mueller founded the St. Croix River Valley-based Beacon Hill Jazz Ensemble in 2009. The Ensemble has included an all-star line up of Twin Cities musicians, including: Stillwater’s own Phil Kadidlo on keys; upright bassist Jim Bierma; drummer, Nathan Norman; and saxophonist and MacPhail Center for Music instructor, Greg Keel.

While in Massachusetts, Mueller was a professional recording session singer, voice-over artist and jingle singer for Fresh Music Library in Northampton, MA including the voice of Yankee Candle Flagship store’s animatronic toy village. She performed and recorded background vocals for international jazz and R&B guitarist, Michael Gregory Jackson, and Coyote Sisters’ Leah Kunkel, sister to Mama Cass Elliot. Mueller’s solo work in Massachusetts also includes vocals with her jazz band, Wiggin’ Out, and creator/director for the multi-arts series, The Groove, performing original, “ambient, improvisational tone poems,” singing direct from Biblical Scripture with The Groove Ensemble. She has performed in musical and community theater and sings and her ensemble singing career includes the mixed a cappella sextet, A Mouth Like That, as well as a thoroughly enjoyable lark with community musical theater, Valley Light Opera, of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Mikado, Gondoliers, and Pirates of Penzance. Mueller was CEO of MUSE, Inc., a music ministry for shut-in elders in New England; and is founder and voice coach with The Center for Authentic Voice. She is currently a church worship leader, sings with Hudson, WI’s River Valley Chorale, and is working on a recording of original devotional jazz.

In addition to vocal work, Mueller is a graphic designer and was creative director of her marketing communications firm, WigginWorks, Inc. in Massachusetts and the not-for-profit Conscious Communications. She retired from corporate work in 2002 when she formed Agapé Arts, LLC and Agapé Communications in Stillwater, MN where she lives with her husband and their Great Dane, Shiloh, and makes art depicting Biblical motifs and themes through her Beacon Hill Studios. Mueller has installed, curated and presented gallery talks for Gospel art galleries and exhibits in Massachusetts and the Twin Cities. She is founder of The Institute of Gospel Art at Stillwater, presenting workshops and monthly “prayer jams” for Biblically-inspired artists. She created The Christmas Gift pop-up art gallery and gift shop in downtown Stillwater, and is curator of STIR Gallery of Contemporary Gospel Art, now located on Main Street at Loome Theological Bookseller and online soon at www.stirarts.com.
