Join experienced fly fisherman Jim Rue for a two-hour workshop covering the basics of fly fishing. For the first hour, participants will learn about the fly rod and reel, including setting up the line, types of flies, and casting, and will learn about the species of fish found in area streams, the macroinvertebrates they love to eat, plants to watch out for, and success strategies. State regulations and fishing ethics will also be discussed. For the second hour, participants will have an opportunity to put skills and equipment together on Valley Creek.
