As part of the NFL’s sustainability platform, the Super Bowl Environmental Program aims to reduce the environmental impact of Super Bowl events and leave a positive, “green” legacy in host communities. Belwin Conservancy applied for and was awarded a grant from the Super Bowl Environmental Program to purchase and plant 400 trees at Lucy Winton Bell Athletic Fields. The trees will serve as a windbreak and sound barrier from Interstate 94 and as shade for visiting athletes and their families. Brief ceremony at 11:00 a.m. followed by tree planting. Free and open to the public. Interested volunteers should contact Belwin Development Manager Marta McCormack at marta.mccormack@belwin.org or 651-436-5189 x.12.
