Lunch and Learn: Camping on the Croix 101

Lunch and Learn: Camping on the Croix 101

Presented by St. Croix River Association at Online/Virtual Space

Our beloved Riverway Speaker Series is returning—with a virtual twist!

Beginning in January 2021, SCRA staff will bring experts to you through our new “Lunch and Learn” series, sharing important conservation messages and enriching understanding of the natural resources, cultural values, and recreational opportunities that make the Riverway special.

Join us on Wednesday, February 17 from 12:00-1:00 PM to learn where you can camp, what permits and reservation you might need, what amenities are found at the campsites, and what the expectations are for camping in these very unique and sought-after sites in our nation’s first Wild and Scenic River National Park.

Presenter: Dale Cox, Park Ranger, St. Croix National Scenic Riverway

St. Croix National Scenic Riverway Park Ranger Dale Cox will share the ins and outs of camping on the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers and how to find your place in this park. Dale has been a Park Ranger with the National Park Service for over 25 years, most of that time with the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. Originally from the Ozarks river country, he has spent his career exploring wild places and paddling moving waters. Today he sees the story of our nation’s waters as a cautionary tale about our country and its people.
