Love Letters

Love Letters

Presented by The Phipps Center for the Arts at The Phipps Center for the Arts

Love is in the Air!
Simple, yet powerful, the story follows two characters through a lifelong love affair recounted through their letters.

As poignant today as ever, the lovers are forever physically apart, though spiritually connected. They share with each other life’s joys and struggles and ultimately learn that happiness is found in the relationships we build, rather than the elements of a material life.

Don’t miss this unique theatrical format that combines the art of storytelling with the nostalgic beauty of first and true love.

From the Director
Love Letters is a multilayered script with characters who are simultaneously simple and complex. Brimming with love, loss and expectations (those we have and those we feel others have of us), our two characters Melissa and Andy are both achingly rooted in the mindfulness of the moment that stretches from lights up to the final blackout.

This apparent contradiction—being in the moment as you reflect on and re-experience a lifetime of correspondence—is what makes Love Letters such a rich shared experience for the actors and the audience.

-Tami Provencher, Director
