Marjorie Wade is a studio potter from Stillwater, Minnesota. She creates pottery for everyday use and embrace simplicity in each piece. Her work is inspired and influenced by the pottery and artifacts from primitive cultures, particularly those of Africa and prehistoric Japan.The nuances in the patterns and textures found in objects from these countries are essential to her work. She is also influenced by the Japanese folk tradition of Mingei, which honors the simple beauty in everyday objects made for daily use.

I use different clays and firing methods such as wood, salt or oxidation to create unique functional and decorative pottery with natural, organic surfaces.

My studio showroom is open annually for studio tours, holiday sales and by appointment.
